We were recently invited to present at the buildingSMART Management Series around the topic ‘Get BIM Right”. Our Managing Director, Gretel Bakker, took the stage in Sydney this week to discuss the human-side of implementing new technologies.

As is the case with many types of change, people often get the systems and processes right but forget to bring their people along for the ride. As the possibility of openBIM emerges on the horizon, we need to think beyond updating systems and software. We need to think about supporting people through what is sure to be disruptive yet transformational change. Our presentation: Buying into BIM centred on strategies to spark and sustain attitudinal and behavioural change, not only to help people buy-into BIM, but to ensure they are open and able to navigate the new reality of constant change and adaptation.

This is what we do every day at PF: we support transformational change. Our collaboration with the design and construction industry stretches almost two decades, and we look forward to more opportunities to collaborate with the sector in future.

A big shout out to our fellow speaker, Nathan Hildbrandt of Fulton Trotter Architects who shared some fantastic insights into building knowledge and skills to get openBIM ready, and our partners at buildingSMART for the fantastic opportunity.

If you hail from the design, construction, infrastructure and asset management fields and are interested, you can catch the next two sessions in Brisbane, and then in Melbourne using the links below.
