Paula Johnston, Senior Associate

Paula comes to Performance Frontiers having designed and led large-scale learning and development programs across a broad range of industries and learning contexts.

Paula is an expert learning and development designer and consultant who brings the latest insights from neuroscience to create transformative learning experiences. Some of her neuroscience research sits in the area of memory, leadership, and the parallels between social and physical trauma. Her learning interventions have elevated teams and organisations in diverse spaces from executive leadership to retail, not-for-profit, aged care and education. Through this work, she has operated both in leading the high-level design and project implementation and in delivering compelling facilitations to create those ‘a-ha’ moments. Paula has particular expertise in leadership development, directing and curating programs for high-performing leaders.

Paula’s work is characterised by an appreciative enquiry approach – the understanding that learning and development is premised on a deep curiosity and engaging meaningfully with the person behind the role. This practice supports her personal interest in building awareness about domestic violence.

At Performance Frontiers, she is excited to work with a whole systems approach, and to continue to enrich her coaching skills. Paula also has experience in equine therapy and is deeply connected to the natural world, devoting much of her free time to trail riding and practicing natural horsemanship.
